Outline (in English)

The purpose of this class is to acquire basic education and to develop basic physical strength for specialized subjects by training Japanese sentences.

In many sentence expression classes, the policy is to teach the correct Japanese "form" after distinguishing between the "content" and "form" of the sentence. This is a type of lesson in which the teacher unilaterally conveys the correct Japanese grammar, correct logical structure, correct vocabulary usage, etc.

However, when you think about it, you cannot say the appropriate "form" of a sentence without the "content" that should be conveyed to the reader. Similarly, it is impossible to disregard the writer's "message" and determine the style of the text. In other words, if the writer has nothing to tell the reader, the word "sentence expression" ends up as "a rice cake drawn in a picture".

The specific flow of the lesson is as follows. First, 1) First, read the specified text in advance, and then prepare a simple slide so that you can explain the outline. Next, 2) make a mini-presentation for each group using the slides during class. 3) Decide on a representative for the group and have them announce it in the class. Furthermore, 4) write a mini report based on the announcement. In addition to that, 5) ask them to write this report three times. The texts are selected from a wide range of genres such as media studies, philosophy, literary criticism, and economics. We plan to organize the lessons with these exercises and lectures on culture.

The textbooks used in class are selected so that they cannot be easily read. Participants are also required to submit assignments each time and make presentations within the group or in the classroom. Therefore, it is not easy to take a unit. We hope for the participation of those who are willing to study.

In addition, when conducting remotely, it is a condition of participation that the video function is "on".
